Jerry Yang, the co founder of Yahoo has left the company, one of the latest dramatic changes of this internet company. Yang was involved in both rise and fall of Yahoo from late 1990 to early 2000 and has resigned from his all the post of the company effective from Tuesday. In a statement Yahoo said Yang has quit his position not only in Yahoo’s Board, but also on Yahoo’s Japan’s board and Alibaba Group Holding. In his letter to Roy Bostock, chairman of the board Yang wrote, “My time at Yahoo, from its founding to the present, has encompass some of the most exciting and pleasing experiences of my life. However, the time has come for me to pursue other interest outside of Yahoo.” In his letter he also said he is “enthusiastic” about the recent appointment Scott Thompson, former PayPal President as Yahoo CEO as well as about the prospects for company’s future success.

In 1995 Yang co-founded Yahoo with David Filo and since then has been board member. He also served as chief executive from 2007 to 2009. After Carol Bartz became CEO, Yang reportedly involved himself in overseas venture especially with Alibaba, where Yahoo is the largest shareholder.
