JOB OR JOKE?

Khalid (pseudonym) is a student of mechanical engineering of a reputed university of the country. He wants to get a part time job so that he could meet his expenses. He always dreamed to work of his field. So he noticed to an advertisement of a company, required person for an industry based work. The description of the company and job were not stated in the advertisement. He was very curious about the job and went for the interview. Then he found that, this was nothing but an insurance company, looking for their customer rather than any employer!
This is a very common situation in Bangladesh. Most of the company get luxurious vacancy advertisement and cheat with people. Mostly students and fresh graduated are the victims of this situation. Student life is a period of dream and fantasy and they like to think the future in their own way. They don’t have the idea about the outer cruel world. Actually a university student and higher secondary student have a huge difference in dreams and own view. A university student certainly thinks broadly then the college student. A college student has a narrower view about the world and very easily influenced. Another variation can be found by the regional basis. Most of the village students arrive at the town get confused about the lifestyle of the town. They would not get the support they need. For this reason, they need a part time job. Some of the treacherous get this chance for their cruel business. They make their client behind the shade of employer. You can see a number of part time job advertisements in the university or college wall. Do you ever found any description?

Now let’s get some real stories. Of the stories are true as I know but the characters are not
Story 1: Shoeb gets the chance in Dhaka University. He is from Rajshahi. His father is a poor farmer and so, he needs to help his father. So he noticed an advertisement and goes for the interview. He does not have any idea about insurance companies. The HR asked him some questions and then said that, he was selected for the job. But he needs a training and then he must have to make his own and family insurance. Only then he could join. He almost joined, but one of his friends resisted him from the trap.

Story2: Tuli is a student of BBA in AIUB. She is very curious about call center jobs. She found a job recruitment advertisement in a jobs web site for call center agent. She contacted there and finally selected for the job. But she needed three months training and for this she had to pay 8000 taka. But even after a good training she didn’t get the job, her 8000 taka was in vain. Even she didn’t get any training certificate, so that she could get any other call center job.

Story3: Rony is a student of BUET gets the job advertisement in a wall. Here some writers were needed for a guidebook. He was curious and made a contract of just 3000 taka for 30 chapters of the guidebook. He made a guidebook after 14 days of hard labor, but whenever he submitted it, they refused to pay the money at that time. Actually they have not paid him yet, even after a long long time.

Story4: Tushar is a student of BUET. He needs a tuition so that, he does not remain burden for his poor family. So, he contacted a tuition media and registered himself by 500 taka. They promised that, he might get the tuition within 7 days. But he got the call after 15 days. There he found that the media contacted 10 students for the tuition! He never gets any tuition from this media. His 500 taka is nothing but a waste.

These real stories are very much common in the university campus. Although we are entering in the digital era, we never overcome our narrowness. We always tend to use others weakness for our needs. In the first world countries most of the companies have prestigious position for the college, university and internship students. Most of the hotels, restaurants, private and public organization have the quota for the students. Although some of the overseas companies like KFC, BFC, Nokia, Grameenphone etc. made some positions for the students, but the opportunities are very limited. For this reason most of the students are caught by these treacherous people. Actually, most of the students learn to cheat after being cheated, by this corruption spreads. Is it not the total waste of our human resources?
