Superhero Fancy Dress Costumes

Ever since Clark Kent first donned the red and blue spandex outfit of Superman back in 1932 the world has been in love with Superheroes, the popularity of which has resulted in some of the biggest blockbuster films of all time. Being such hugely iconic and recognisable characters has meant that Superhero fancy dress is a massively popular theme. In this article we’ll be looking at some of our favourite Super hero fancy dress costumes.

Superman

Superman is the Grand Daddy of Superheroes, he’d explored countless galaxies and saved the world a thousand times by the time Wolverine or Iron Man were sketched in pencil.  Superman is also the founder of the whole underpants on the outside trend which is popular with some of the earlier superheroes. Being the earliest caped superhero makes him so popular that every fancy dress shop in the world has a Superman fancy dress costume for sale.

Batman

Batman made his first comic book appearance back In 1939 , since then the Caped Crusader has appeared in 9 live action films with The Dark Knight Rises, the final instalment in Christopher Nolan’s Batman series being released this summer. Unlike many of the Superheroes, Batman does not actually have any super powers, instead he relies on his brute strength as well as his inventions which is the main reason he is one of our favourites.

Wolverine

Last on our list is Wolverine who is easily the most popular member of The X Men. His popularity has also meant that in 2008 he was ranked the number 1 comic book character of all time by Wizard Magazine. Like both Superman and Batman, Wolverine has also appeared in several films, in which he was portrayed by Hugh Jackman. The character is one of the most stylised and unique superheroes, he does not wear a cape and instead has retracting bone claws as well as the ability to heal. Due to the huge popularity of all 3 of the above Superheroes, most fancy dress shops or websites stock officially licensed versions.
