Plastic Surgeries to Make You More Comfortable in Your Own Skin
It’s important to be comfortable in your own skin. This will help build confidence, and confidence helps to build relationships throughout the course of your life. Being comfortable with yourself will allow you to be comfortable with everyone around you. However, comfort isn’t easy to come by in a world of fad diet trends and high-priced consumer fashion. Finding comfort in your own skin is often
a journey of learning more about yourself. In some cases, people will turn to plastic surgery procedures to find some sense of comfort with themselves.
Facelifts
Facelift surgery happens to be one of the most common and popular cosmetic procedures currently done. Technically known as a rhytidectomy, facelifts improve certain visible signs of aging in the face and neck area. These aging signs include:
- Deep creases and wrinkles under the lower eyelids and along the nose extending to the corners of the mouth
- Fat that has fallen or is displaced
- Sagging in the midface
- Loss of muscle tone creating jowls
- Loose skin or excess deposits of fat under the chin and jaw that might look like a double chin on a person of average weight
As you can see, a facelift takes care of a variety of problems, and although it might turn back the clock, it won’t completely stop the aging process. During the procedure for a traditional facelift, the surgeon will make an incision starting in the hairline near the temples, continuing around the ear, ending in the lower scalp. From here the surgeon lifts away the skin of the face and sculpts or redistributes fat from the face, neck, or jowls. Deeper tissues are repositioned. Any excess skin, fat, or tissue is removed. The surgeon then re-drapes the skin over the patient’s face and closes the incision.
Rhinoplasty
Commonly known as a nose job, rhinoplasty surgery improves the overall shape, appearance, and proportion of the patient’s nose. In some more pertinent cases, rhinoplasty surgery may correct impaired breathing caused by structural abnormalities of the nose, like a deviated septum.
There are numerous different methods of accomplishing a rhinoplasty depending upon the patient’s wishes or existing conditions. In the case of a deviated septum, for instance, a surgeon would straighten the septum and reduce any projections in the nose by removing cartilage. In other surgeries, the surgeon may use cartilage grafts to augment nasal structures.
