Zooey Deschanel reveals she was bullied in school

Famous actress and singer Zooey Deschanel, the start of the very popular new sitcom “New Girl,” is featured on the cover of Allure magazine for February, had a very revealing interview with the beauty mag. Deschanel reveals in the interview that she was bullied in school as a child. Deschanel recounts girls spitting on zooey and being so mean to her it makes her to cry every day. The emotional scars from the constant bullying must be still present to some extent, as Deschanel refuses to read gossip magazines or online stories that are mean and derogatory about her. She specifically singles out “Gawker” as one of the showbiz and celebrity websites that she stays away from.

Other parts of the interview are about her beauty secrets. For example, she said that her fringy bangs and big blue eyes are part of her “signature style” and look. Deschanel said that she grows her bangs out quite often, but she ends up cutting them back. Since that usually happens, she said that it’s just gotten easier to keep them shorter.

Deschanel is not an actress that’s known for showing off her svelte figure, but she says that she keeps in shape by eating lots of vegetables, proteins, and grains. She also spends times exercising, but said that she’s not obsessive about it. The photo shoot for Allure shows her in some Jason Wu fashions. Wu is one of the Michelle Obama’s favorite designers.
